First Experiement… Lavender Sugar Scrub
I make a wonderful sugar scrub. It exfoliates and moisturizes beautifully. Usually, I add a few drops of essential oils for scent or even some freshly grated nutmeg. Well, this time I decided to add some lavender buds…
Yeah, this didn’t work so well. Don’t know why it didn’t occur to me that the buds would be ALL over the shower. So, this, while it smelt lovely, was a major failure.
The regular recipe is great to toy with, however!
Sugar Scrub Recipe:
Water-tight container
White Sugar
Olive Oil
Essential oil of choice
Fill your water-tight container about 2/3’s full of white sugar. (I use a Gerber baby bowl and lid but have had very good success with screw topped containers that once held body butter) Add enough olive oil and mix gently til you get the consistency of wet sand. Add two to three drops of your scent and mix again. I usually go through a batch a week.
Use:
In the shower, rub the scrub gently over your skin to exfoliate and moisturize. Avoid the eyes (Duh) and be VERY careful as the oil will make your shower slick! Rinse under warm water. Pat dry with a towel and enjoy how silky your skin feels.
